Bedford, in the centre of the county, is the county town,. Oldies love Bedford due to the lack of hills in the town centre. Due to Bedfordshire being close to London it allows for easy access which creates lots commuters whom enjoy a country life when they get home.
Many of Bedfordshire town's histories go back to Saxon times, and was important in the reign of King Alfred before the Danes attacked it in 1010.
